Health Economics and Cancer Policy Analysis
Health Economics and Cancer Policy Analysis
In recent years, the need to increase research capacity in health economics and cancer policy analysis has been identified by the departments of health of Ireland and Northern Ireland as a priority to improving the quality of cancer care on the island of Ireland. Health economics and cancer analysis were added to the renewed Memorandum of Understanding signed in Belfast on November 13, 2006 as a result of this need.
In 2007, the Consortium sponsored or was involved with several health economic initiatives: 1) The All- Ireland NCI Health Economics Workshop, 2) Northern Ireland Health Economics Workshop at Queens University Belfast, and 3) the HRB/NCI Health Economics Fellowship in Cancer Program. These initiatives are intended to address the need for training in the area of cancer health economic and policy analysis on the island of Ireland. More information on these can be found below.
