Sharon Glynn

Sharon Glynn Sharon Glynn, PhD, MPH
2005-2008 Cancer Prevention Fellow

Sharon Glynn completed a Masters in Public Health from University College Dublin before beginning two years of research at the NCI. Working in the Laboratory of Carcinogenesis at the NCI's Center for Cancer Research with Dr. Stefan Ambs, Dr. Glynn's current research involves the use of molecular epidemiology to identify factors that promote breast cancer progression, with emphasis on estrogen receptor biology, inflammation pathways and miRNAs. A unique aspect of her work lies in the application of both molecular epidemiology and basic laboratory research. Dr. Glynn takes targets identified through molecular epidemiology, and studies their biological significance in vitro to establish causal relationships and mechanisms.
