Fellowships and Training in Cancer Research
The Consortium sponsors a number of fellowships and training opportunities for scientists, nurses, and public health professionals from Ireland, Northern Ireland, and the United States. Interested individuals are encouraged to compete for fellowships or short-term (1-6 weeks) training programs, a portion of which are conducted at NCI (Bethesda, Maryland U.S.) or NCI-grantee sites. Educational opportunities on the island of Ireland are also available to U.S. citizens. To be considered for selection, all applicants must meet the eligibility requirements specified by each program. E-learning opportunities, such as videoconferencing, are also available.

HRB/NCI Health Economics Fellowships in Cancer Program - Open to graduate students, researchers, and applicants with advanced degrees in medicine or other science in a relevant discipline. The duration of the fellowship will be four years leading to a PhD degree in health economics. Call for Applications - CLOSED.

Joint Research Projects in Cancer - Three-year fellowship for shared post-doctoral research on a defined research project of mutual interest to Irish and U.S. cancer researchers.

NCI Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program - Opportunity to obtain a Masters in Public Health (MPH) degree in year one, followed by two years of mentored research in the National Cancer Institute's distinguished Cancer Prevention Fellowship Program in Washington, D.C.

- NCI Clinical Trials Training for Nurses Program - Short-term (1-6 weeks) training in clinical trials at NCI for oncology nurses.

NCI Summer Curriculum in Cancer Prevention - Open to U.S. and international health professionals in multiple disciplines with an interest in the science and practice of cancer prevention and control. One 4-week course of study on Principles and Practice of Cancer Prevention and Control and one 1-week Molecular course of study, held consecutively at NCI, Rockville, MD U.S. Call for Applications - CLOSED.
